National Pronto Selects CTS for Inventory Management Solution
The National Pronto Association (Pronto) has selected Houston, TX-based Custom Technology Solutions (CTS) to provide inventory management decision support systems. Pronto will implement the tools at the program group management level to help identify sales trends and forecast inventory movement for its members and manufacturer partners.
Pronto has embarked on an aggressive plan to expand the use of information technology at the member and group management levels to improve supply chain processes across the group. Pronto has added the CTS applications following its successful efforts to electronically connect members with their key suppliers, collect data from member legacy computer systems that are difficult to access and aggregate data across the membership.
The CTS inventory management and forecasting system will provide detailed intelligence on geographical and seasonal movement of parts. The systems are designed to provide the information needed for intelligent decision making, affecting capital investments, manufacturing, stocking and ordering. Features of CTS’s intelligence-producing applications allow users to view inventory across all distribution locations and understand how to optimize the mix of parts in each geographic area. This will reduce returns and improve inventory management between Pronto members and their parts suppliers, according to CTS.
“The CTS system provides sophisticated and practical processes for intelligently interpreting the inventory and sales data we collect from our members,” said Bill Maggs, president of Pronto. “We need the results the CTS business applications will deliver - that is knowledge-based information that will support our decision-making process, and to form the basis of our supply chain solutions.”
